There is nothing like the excitement and energy that comes with the 1st day of school. What's even more rewarding is seeing how all of our staff go above and beyond in making our students feel welcomed and valued. What I witnessed today filled me with tears of pride.

Happy First Day! We are so thrilled to have our students back with us today! Loved seeing our Pathfinder staff, parents and local first responders celebrating the arrival of our students by "clapping" them in as the smiles were abundant! Even Smokey the Bear showed up!

Our teachers have been working hard for weeks getting everything ready to welcome your beautiful children back to our schools on Monday. #excitementisbuilding

What a fantastic morning we had with our entire Pirate family as we were treated to a beautiful dance routine by our championship pom/dance team and a power, yet humorous message from PCS Alumn, Christine Cashen about creating a positive perspective and attitude in the workplace.

Everything is ready to go as we are so excited to be welcoming back our fabulous Pirate staff! The energy and passion they will bring is truly special and inspiring. #letsgetitstarted #piratenation

Loving the energy that is already beginning to fill our schools as today, Pathfinder incoming 7th graders were engaged in the WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) program and also were treated to lunch, prepared and served by our amazing parents. #itsgettingexciting

Had a great time this morning with our amazing band students at camp as they are not only working hard getting ready for marching band season, but they are having a lot of fun doing it! Can't wait to see them at our home football games. #gopirates #piratesrock

Always great taking a tour of our beautiful district with our new teachers!

New Teacher Orientation is underway! Welcome new teachers to our Pirate Family. We are so glad you are here!!!

We are so very fortunate to be in a county with educational leaders that are willing to be collaborative as we establish Livingston County's first true Curriculum Leadership Council that includes both Superintendents and Curriculum Directors from the five public school districts.

Kudos to our fabulous Pinckney bus drivers who won the coveted "Rodeo" Championship yesterday at LESA! The event requires drivers to navigate a series of obstacles and challenges and they have proven themselves to be the best in the county (But we already knew that 😉) GO PIRATES

A majestic morning at Pinckney High School.

A big "Shout out" to Coach Beaton and his staff for inviting the high school admin team, along with myself, to come speak with our exceptional young men on the varsity football team. As I shared with our scholar-athletes, remember to always carry yourself in a manner worthy of being called a P.I.R.A.T.E. (P=Pride, I=Integrity, R=Respect, A=Attitude, T=Time to serve others, E=Empathy). Important virtues that should be evident on the field, in the classroom, in our community and throughout life. GO PIRATES!! #onwardtovictory

A big PIRATE congratulations goes out to our Varsity Pom Team as they became the GRAND Champions at the Midwest Regional Competition in Chicago! This is the first time in the 28 years our girls have been traveling to this event that they have earned the title of GRAND Champions. In addition, our JV Squad took first in their division. Equally important, the girls earned the Betsy Carr Sportsmanship Award, which is such a strong reflection of the positive culture and expectations that exists within the team. This is a great accomplishment by a great group of young ladies and the coaches who are mentoring them. GO PIRATES!!

Exciting morning for our kindergarteners as they learned about bus safety and took their first ride on a Pinckney bus! Thank you parents for spending time with us and hope you enjoyed the bus ride as well!

Love our new postcard! Although we in Pinckney Community Schools have always known how special our district is, we also are aware that many are not familiar with many of the great opportunities we offer, both academically and extra-curricular and our goal is to make certain that changes. "Think you know Pinckney Community Schools?"

Great evening with new Country Elementy principal, Ruth Badalucco, who treated our incoming kindergartners and their families to hotdogs, a bouncy house and a trip to Captain Frosty's. Going to be a great year!

What a great day of learning, connecting, and planning with PCS Administrators!!! Bring in the new school year!
