I know I may be in the minority, but I am sad to say that we will be closing school tomorrow, Jan. 26 due to the poor road conditions we are experiencing throughout the district. The road commission have been working throughout the day, but they have a very limited crew working in the county overnight and the conditions we have now are not expected to improve by morning. We know the strain closing school can put on families and do not make these decisions lightly and appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Take care Pirates and have a good evening.
Good afternoon Pirates. It's no secret that we are heading into the coldest weather of our winter, with "feel like" temps expecting to fall to our threshold (and possibly beyond) of -20 degrees and as a result, school will be closed for Friday, January 23, 2026. Thank you for your understanding and support and hope everyone has a safe and warm weekend. GO PIRATES!!
Although the snow should be coming to an end within the hour, the roads are definitely pretty messy and will create some delays for our buses this afternoon. To help minimize any delays we may encounter, we will be releasing both the High School and Pathfinder 20 minutes early so that our drivers have more time to make their runs and return on time for elementary dismissal. For parents who are picking up their child(ren) from school, dismissal for the HS will be at 2:10pm and for Pathfinder, it will be 2:24pm. Elementary dismissal will be the same as normal. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we manage this winter weather together.

Please be aware that M36 has been closed at Farley Road due to an accident, which will cause many of our buses to be rerouted, along with parents who may be transporting their student to Farley Hill and/or Navigator Elementary. Please continue to be careful as our roads have become slick due to the morning snowfall and do hope that those involved in the accident are o.k. Thank you.

This unexpected blast of snow and cold we received has created some very dangerous driving conditions, especially on our back roads, which is causing us to CLOSE school for today, Jan. 15. Hello Pirates! I just want to make you aware that we temporally lost power this morning for about 15 minutes at every school except the high school. During this time, our staff resumed their teaching and routines and did an excellent job making sure our students remained calm and safe. As we were beginning to put potential plans in place for the possibility of having to do an early release, the power came back on and everything has been proceeding as normal. I just want to make you are aware in the instance your child shares about the power going out during school today. Thank you and have a great afternoon!
Good morning Pirates. The early morning rain is creating some slick spots on our roads, especially on the back roads, causing several of our buses to be running late. There is also an accident at Kress & M36 that has created a delay. Our parking lots are also icing up very quickly, so please be very cautious if entering our buildings as our maintenance staff is working on salting. Please be careful and thank you for your patience.
Please note that the PCS Mobile Food Pantry that was cancelled this afternoon has been rescheduled for Wednesday, December 17 from 4:30pm - 6pm. Thank you!
Good afternoon Pirates. After assessing the current conditions on our side streets and back roads, knowing that the conditions will not improve this afternoon and evenings as temps begin to drop significantly, we feel that it is in the best interest of our students and families to cancel the Pathfinder/High School Music Concert tonight. This is an extremely difficult decision to make given how hard our students have worked and the special memories our holiday concerts can create. I have spoken with our music teacher, Mr. Welling, who will be reaching out directly to the music students/families about the possibility of rescheduling, which will be very limited given the availability of the theater in the remaining days before the break. Once again, we apologize for this and appreciate your understanding. Thank you.
