In times like this, we see the true spirit of our community as a parent just dropped off $500 worth of gift cards to be donated to our Farley Hill Food Pantry. My heart is full with pride and my eyes with tears of hope. #piratestrong #piratescare

As we prepare to begin supporting students who depend on our school lunch program for meals, we understand that transportation challenges may prevent some from obtaining this service. If so, please use the following tool so that we can work to get the food delivered students in need: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfSqEDt4ZFd3i94cjEzjuQwOvfH4BkzaZkTULm5AQ8XnVH6OQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

Hello Pirate Families, Although I sent an update earlier today, this current situation is ever-changing and as of 5 pm this evening, new guidelines have been presented that have initiated the five Livingston County Schools to post a united letter on behalf of our local schools and communities. Please see the attached letter that provides information regarding changes to school trips, athletics, after school activities and community events.

Not only is it very cool that we can provide our 8th graders with some valuable skilled trades opportunities, but the fact that we have so many of our young ladies involved is awesome! #skilledtrades #equity #girlscanbuild

This past Wednesday morning I (along with my county counterparts) met with representatives from the Livingston County Department of Health & Human Services (“DHHS”) to discuss the Coronavirus (COVID-19). During our time together, I was able to get a better understanding of how they would like the districts in Livingston County to engage in the community response efforts. Fortunately, they did not express a need to treat this as a crisis at this time as no confirmed cases of the Coronavirus have yet to be established in Michigan. They did recommend that we encourage everyone to wash their hands frequently and to stay home when sick. As shared by the DHHS, 90% of all communicable diseases can be prevented by simply washing our hands. When asked about the adequacy of our current cleaning practices within our schools, DHHS did not recommend the need to initiate any changes at this point. We also discussed the need to cancel out of state travel plans for student groups and they felt that unless a specific travel advisory is issued for the area our students would be in, cancellation was not necessary. I will continue to maintain open communication with the DHHS and the other education leaders in Livingston County. To the extent that the Center for Disease Control or the DHHS issues a directive different than any of what I mentioned here, I will let you know. For additional information and guidance regarding the Coronavirus, please visit the Livingston County Health Department webpage by clicking https://www.livgov.com/health or feel free to review the recently joint issued memo from the MDE and MiDHHS at https://www.pinckneypirates.org/article/199224?org=district. So much fun stopping in on the LAN party to see our students hanging out at school on a Friday night. The talking, laughter and banter that filled the media center definitely debunks the notion that these kids don't socialize when playing videogames #pirateesports #fridayfun.

Good evening PCS families. School will be closed for Thursday, Feb. 27 as the roads are not expected (per the road commission) to be cleared/treated by the morning. Side roads and subdivisions will not be cleared until Thursday afternoon. Thank you for your understanding.

Good evening. PCS will be cancelling classes for Wednesday, February 26 as we anticipate the road conditions to deteriate throughout the early morning and only expect them to get worse during the day. Thank you.

To clarify, bus #16 is a Nav/Country bus, not Farley as previously stated. If you are not sure if this impacts your child, please feel free to call our transportation department at 810-225-3960. Thank you.

For PCS parents whose children ride bus #16, we will be splitting this route among three buses this afternoon due to a shortage of drivers today. This may result in a 5-20 minute delay in drop off times for both our HS/PF & Nav/Farley runs. Thank you.
