State of the District Presentation

Over the past couple of years, I have had the opportunity to give
presentations throughout the State and Livingston County in which I was
able to share our story, one which relates to what makes our district
& community special, but also one that speaks to our challenges,
successes and ongoing commitment to provide a high-quality educational
experience for our students and staff.

As I have shared with the likes of Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin, Senator
Lana Theis, Representative Hank Voepel, Senator Gary Peters, MDE and the
Department of Treasury,  Pinckney Community Schools reflects just about
every major challenge that is facing education in Michigan, from a
decrease in student enrollment, to the impact of school of
choice/charter schools, appropriate funding, funding equity, rising
costs, increase in student needs, academic achievement/accountability,
impact of poverty on learning, mental health concerns and the list goes
on and on.

However, our story is not one that should be defined by our challenges, but rather, by our
perseverance to continue doing what we can to continue moving our
district forward as the support and pride we feel from our community has
been tremendous over the years and has been paramount in helping us
remain focused and determined in growing opportunities for students.

Given that I have been sharing our story with many outside our district, I
thought it is appropriate to also share this valuable information with
all of you as I have created a "State of the District" presentation that
captures the essence of our story. The video link below will take you
to a YouTube video in which you can watch the presentation at your
convenience and at your pace as it is just a little over an hour in
length.
