From the Principal's desk 12/9/19

Dear Farley Families,

I hope that this finds you well. We sure are dealing with some crazy weather up here on the hill! Just a reminder that the next few days are promising us lots of wind and much colder temperatures. Please be sure to send your child to school with warm winter clothes. Our lost and found is overflowing, so if you are missing anything you might want to check there!

Our winter concerts are scheduled for Monday, December 16 at the Jane Tasch Theater. KR/K and first grades should arrive at 5:40 for a 6:00 concert. Students in second and third grade should arrive at 6:45 for a 7:00 concert. Families are encouraged to park at the back of the Performing Arts building. You can enter near the gym or through the doors marked Navigator. Mr. Sutton will send a note telling you which music classrooms to report to for student drop off and pick up. Families will report to assigned locations to drop children off, and then go into the theater to enjoy the performance. After the performance, teachers will lead students back to the same classroom where you will sign them out and pick them up. Please do not take your child without signing out, as the building will be super busy and we want to be sure that children leave with the correct adults. If you have other questions, please be sure to check with your child's teacher.

Santa is coming to visit us during the morning of Thursday, December 19. While this is a special event for our children, we want to really focus on sharing and caring that last week of school. With this in mind, we are hosting an all school food drive for our pantry. We are always in need of canned pastas & fruits, pasta sauce, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter & jelly, boxed rice dinners, tuna, Hamburger/Tuna Helper, personal care items, and really anything that you might want to share with us.

Our Farley Hill food pantry feeds about 130 people each week, and we have been working to end hunger in our community with this pantry for about 12 years. Our pantry is open to any Pinckney community residents from 5:00-6:30 Thursday evenings, or by appointment with me during the week. Food can be delivered to our office collection bin located right outside of the office, or to classroom collection bins. Thank you for your support of this incredible work!

The next couple of weeks are sure to be filled with lots of school and family activities! Please try to take time to slow down when you can and enjoy some quiet time with your families. I am here to support you in any way that I can, so please don't hesitate to reach out if I can be of assistance to you and our children.

Take care,
Yvonne
