SAT with Essay

Who: 12th Graders (Bring #2 pencils, your student ID, and a calculator! No phones allowed!)

Where: PCHS, 7:30am-1:15pm (lunch afterwards)

Why: This is our seniors’ school day opportunity to take the test they missed out on in the Spring! Many universities require an SAT score as a part of their application.

How to Prepare:

-Khan Academy: https://www.khanacademy.org/sat - SAT preparation that adapts to your own personal progress on previous exams and related practice!

-The College Board, who administers the SAT, has a robust set of practice resources: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat (including the Student Guide)

Make-Up Date: Tuesday, October 27. 2020

PSAT 8/9

Who: 9th Graders (Bring a pencil and a calculator! No phones allowed!)

Where: PCHS, taken digitally on Chromebooks, 7:30am-Noon (lunch and outside activities afterwards!)

Why: The PSAT 8/9 tests the same skills and knowledge as the SAT and PSAT/NMSQT, in a way that makes sense for eighth and ninth graders. It measures what they’re already learning, shows them whether they’re on track for college, and lets them know where they need the most improvement.

How to Prepare: Be sure to bring your PCS Chromebook on testing day, fully charged! Explore additional information here: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-8-9 (including the Student Guide)

PSAT / NMSQT

Who: 10th & 11th Graders (Bring #2 pencils and a calculator!)

Where: PCHS, 7:30am-11:30am (lunch and fun activities afterwards!)

Why: The PSAT/NMSQT is a preparatory experience for 10th graders who will take the SAT their junior year and for 11th graders who will take the SAT in the spring. This test may qualify current 11th graders for significant academic and scholarship recognition, including the National Merit Scholarship.
