You've probably noticed growing research, discussion, and political movement around electronic devices in schools across the country. We are paying attention. We are reading. We are listening to our staff, students, and parents. In addition to government policy and stakeholder feedback, our drivers of decision-making about our electronic device policy include protecting student mental health, supporting uninterrupted learning environments, building face-to-face connection amongst Pirates, and maximizing safety and integrity.
Considering the above, and unless state policy decisions direct us otherwise, we've revised our electronic device policy to what you see below for the 25-26 school year. Students can expect to see a cell phone caddy at the entrance to every classroom, for consistency and ease of policy enforcement.
Thank you for your support as we continually refine our learning environment to maximize student well-being, learning, and connection.
