Dear PCS Families,
Over the past three years, Pinckney Community Schools was fortunate to offer a free summer literacy camp for students in grades 2–4 through COVID grant funds. Unfortunately, those funds have now expired, and we are no longer able to provide the same experience at no cost.
However, our commitment to providing exceptional learning opportunities for all students remains strong! This summer, we are thrilled to offer a Leadership and Literacy Camp for students currently in grades 1–4.
While we understand that the new cost of $200 may feel significant—especially given the free opportunities in previous years—we truly believe this camp will offer a high-quality, enriching experience for our youngest learners at PCS.
Camp Details:
Dates: June 9–12, 2025 (Monday-Thursday)
Times: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: Country Elementary School, 2939 E. M-36, Pinckney
Cost: $200 (Please note: If your child is already signed up for Pirate Camp, you will not have to pay for Pirate Camp for that week. Your payments will start the following week).
Space is Limited: Only 30 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis!
Our camp will be led by two outstanding educators:
Laura Allen: PCS Literacy Coach with 22 years of experience at Pinckney Community Schools. Laura has served as an elementary classroom teacher, reading interventionist, and instructional coach. She holds a Master's in Reading and is trained in Orton-Gillingham literacy practices. Laura has also led our Pirate Summer Academy for the past three years.
Kate Rossetter: A retired teacher with 30 years of experience at Howell Public Schools. Kate holds a Master's in Reading, served as an instructional coach, and ran Howell’s Camp Highlander for three years.
Both Laura and Kate bring a wealth of experience, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to making learning joyful and impactful!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Laura Allen at lallen@pinckneypirates.org.
We hope you will join us for this exciting opportunity to plant great seeds of leadership, confidence, and literacy in your child!
Warm regards,
Ruth Badalucco - Navigator Principal
