Children must be 5 years old on or before September 1st to enroll in kindergarten for the 2019/20 school year. Parents wishing to enroll students who turn 5 after September 1st through December 1st may submit a written request to the school district to enroll their student for the 2019/2020 School Year. The State of Michigan prohibits public schools from enrolling in Kindergarten students turning 5 after December 1st.

Pinckney Community Schools is also offering a 5-day full day KinderREADY program at Farley Hill Elementary and Country Elementary for the 2019/2020 school year. KinderREADY is a program specially designed for young school-age children (children turning age 5 by September 1, 2019) who are needing a little more time. All children develop at their own rate socially, emotionally, and intellectually. It is normal. KinderREADY is designed to provide more readiness activities for reading, writing and mathematics getting students acclimated to a school environment, used to following directions, and sharing with other children. Children are screened individually to determine if KinderREADY is the right fit for the child. For more information on the KinderREADY program, please contact Farley Hill Elementary at (810) 225-6400 or Country Elementary at (810) 225-6600.
